We keep personal information only for as long as it is necessary for the purposes above, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (Privacy Policy, section 9). In California's terms these are: identifiers; customer records; commercial information; internet activity; coarse location from IP address; photos you send us; and professional information (job title, company). We do not collect sensitive personal information (government ID numbers, precise location, health, biometric or similar data) — please do not send it.
Sale or sharing
Yes, for advertising, and only with your consent on this website. When you choose Accept, identifiers (cookie IDs, IP address), internet activity (pages and products viewed) and commercial information (cart, purchase and contact-form events), plus hashed order contact details when you complete a purchase, are made available to Google through its Google Ads and Merchant Center tags so that we can measure our advertising and, if we use remarketing, show our ads to past visitors. California law may call this a "sale" or "sharing". We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not sell or share the personal information of anyone we know to be under 16. We also disclose personal information to the service providers who run the store for us: Shopify (platform and checkout), our payment providers (Shopify Payments, PayPal, Shop Pay, Google Pay), shipping carriers, Google Analytics (with your consent), Consentmo (cookie consent) and hCaptcha/Cloudflare (form security).
Your choices and rights
- Cookies: choose Accept or Reject in the banner; change it any time via Cookie preferences in the footer. A Global Privacy Control browser signal (an Opt-Out Preference Signal) is treated as Reject and as an opt-out of sale/sharing for that browser.
- Opt out of sale/sharing: choose Reject in the cookie banner, which switches off Google's advertising tags for that browser (a Global Privacy Control signal does the same automatically), or use Your Privacy Choices. If you had already chosen Accept, opting out there switches off our contact-form tag and limits Google's other advertising tags to Google's restricted data processing, in which Google acts only as our service provider and does not use your data to personalize ads.
- Marketing email: unsubscribe link in every newsletter.
- Access, delete, correct, portability, appeal: submit a request online at our privacy request form, email support@ekonorthamerica.com, call (866) 987-2980, or use the contact form. We respond within the time the law allows (45 days in California). We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.
